About me – Jeanine Souren
Through my own experience I learned there is more to a relationship than love. Unfortunately, I felt lost in my own relationship and came to realize that for all my searching, I wasn’t connected to myself or my feelings. I had to let go to in order to find myself, to find that truth about who I am and to discover my authenticity. It was a journey, at times painful. From there, I was able to reconnect with myself and be in harmony with those around me.
The path I was on personally, led to study relationships and behavioural patterns and from there I decided to take it further, and got my psychology and relationship therapists degrees. During that process and my subsequent roles, I worked with thousands of clients to support my curiosity about how this works; relationships with oneself and with others. My strong desire to develop a program that I could have used during my time of need, drove me to create the Time for Each Other programs – a truly effective and no-nonsense approach for a stronger relationship.
– Everyone can change –
I have been fortunate to have lead an international life, living abroad for many years, traveling extensively and learning through each experience. On the surface I had all the privileges of leading a global life yet I still felt restless. The essence was missing in the appearance. Beyond and above mere appearance comes actuality. Developing a sense of acceptance involved establishing a more genuine identity. Cultural and contextual differences, however subtle, and their influence on relationships are often underestimated. My experience and knowledge of varied customs helps me to see from different perspectives, in particular the areas of stress and the associated emotional wear and tear in some couples and individuals. As an expat, wife, mother and professional, I have gained insight and experience in working together with a variety of people in different professions and with diverse backgrounds, from at home wives who have lost their identity to high net worth individuals running international businesses.
In addition to my work at ‘TFEO’, I have had the privilege of working at U-Center since 2010 – a specialised mental health care facility in Maastricht, Holland. As the Head of International Affairs, I am responsible for international business collaborations and for the optimal care of our international patients. As a psychologist, and a couples & family therapist, I work with people suffering from complex and co-morbid mental health issues.
The programs, combined with honest and insightful conversations, will lead to a sustainable break in the problem(s) and set a new, positive trend for your relationship. I am interested, straightforward and honest. My vision is not to work from an illness or pathology perspective. I use my life history and experience for relational issues – I have been there and recovered. Passion and engagement is essential. Finding one’s own strength and resilience – vital. I encourage my clients to live close to their truth; from there they are better able to maintain lasting and intimate relationships.
